From Researcher to Care Core Member
When Carolyn Pippin learned that surplus medical supplies from Cleveland hospitals were helping patients around the world, she knew she had found a mission worth supporting.
Carolyn first discovered MedWish International while researching health-related nonprofits in Cleveland for an employee newsletter article at the malpractice law firm where she worked in marketing. What began as a professional assignment quickly became a personal connection.
Originally from Germany, Carolyn came to Cleveland for college and has always been interested in international affairs. MedWish's work bringing critical medical supplies and equipment to recipients around the globe inspired her.
"I was blown away that local hospitals in Cleveland were donating supplies to help people overseas instead of wasting resources," Carolyn said. "The staff are the nicest group of people, and the volunteers are passionate! I felt I needed to contribute to an organization that impacts so many people."
After writing the article, Carolyn shared it with MedWish leadership, who loved it. She soon became a volunteer, contributing newsletter articles and sharing stories about local recipients.
As she learned more about the impact MedWish was making both locally and globally, Carolyn decided to deepen her commitment by becoming a monthly donor through the MedWish MedWorks Care Core program.
Today, her recurring gift provides reliable support that helps MedWish MedWorks connect medically underserved communities with vital medical supplies and equipment year-round. Carolyn also takes advantage of her employer's matching gift program, doubling the impact of her monthly donations.
