Executive Staff

Carolina Masri

Executive Director 

Carolina Masri, Executive Director, joined MedWish’s team in August 2015 after moving to Cleveland from Miami, Florida. Carolina oversees the heads of the different departments, including, operations, marketing, program development, volunteers, and fundraising. She was born in Venezuela and has been in the nonprofit world for the past 10 years. Her last non-profit journey was with ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and in 2014 she was recognized as one of the 25 most powerful women by People en Español. Carolina is fluent in Arabic and Spanish.

Holly Duns

Volunteer Program Coordinator

Holly Duns is the Volunteer Program Coordinator at MedWish International. She joined the MedWish team in February 2017. After receiving a Bachelor’s Degree in Communications, Holly accepted a position as an Account Executive at an entertainment marketing agency where she executed marketing campaigns and planned weekly events for major motion picture film studios. In 2015, she switched gears and began working at a non-profit organization as a Volunteer Coordinator. Holly is an active attendee of Cleveland events and continues to help organize events for multiple organizations on a regular basis. Since 2007, Holly has volunteered her time as an on-air disc jockey at a local college radio station and has recently started volunteering as a mentor at College Now.

Donna Ferrante

Director of Development

Donna Ferrante joined MedWish in January 2017 in the role of Director of Development. Donna comes to MedWish with over 20 years of senior leadership experience in the private, public, and not for profit sectors. Most recently, she served in a Senior Director Executive Administration role at the Cleveland Clinic, and prior as the Executive Director for the American Heart Association, and the Regional Vice president for Diversified Clinical Services and Vice President of Spectrum Diagnostic Imaging. Donna will oversee Development, Strategic Planning, and Community Relations for MedWish, with the goal of increasing philanthropy and community relations to ensure the organization fulfills its mission and to create a solid foundation for future success.  Donna is from Cleveland, Ohio and resides in Shaker Heights with her husband Jim, and son Nicolas.

Britta Harman

Director of Business Operations

Britta Harman, Director of Business Operations, joined MedWish’s team in November 2015. However, Britta first became involved with MedWish in 2009 as a summer intern. She also completed a second summer internship in 2013 and volunteered on numerous occasions. Britta oversees finances, development, and human resources at MedWish. Britta has a Master’s degree in Diplomacy and International Commerce with a focus in international development, a graduate certificate in global health, and a Bachelor’s degree in French and Religious Studies.

Shirley Harold

Skill Building Program Coordinator

Shirley is the Coordinator of MedWish’s Skill Building Program, formerly the Building Careers Program. She came to MedWish as a volunteer in the summer of 2011, and she describes her initial experience with the organization as love at first sight. She started asking questions such as where do I sign up, how many hours can I work, and what can I clean? By the end of that year, Shirley was offered the Skill Building Program Coordinator role. The Skill Building Program partners with agencies that mentor individuals with learning and physical disabilities. Together, MedWish and these agencies foster job skills, individual growth, leadership skills, academic readiness, and much more. The Skill Building Program creates a learning and growth environment and helps further MedWish’s lifesaving mission.

Dresden Limpach

Warehouse Associate & Driver

Dresden Limpach joined the MedWish team in September 2016. In many ways, he is the face of MedWish for our hospital champions as he conducts our supply pickups in our MedWish truck and drives around much of Northeast Ohio on his routes. He also helps receive pickups into our warehouse and helps maintain the flow and storage of our supplies. Outside of work, Dresden enjoys tinkering with hobby electronics and computers. He also loves playing video games.

Tony Monaco

Inventory Associate

Tony is the Inventory Associate at MedWish. He first became involved as an intern in 2014 and moved into his current position in May 2015. In this role, Tony enters product information of donated supplies into MedWish’s inventory system and ensures that these cataloged items are kept in their proper locations. This enables MedWish to quickly locate needed supplies when they are requested by recipients.

Britta Shaffer

Humanitarian Aid & Alternative Recycling Program Coordinator

Britta joined MedWish in 2014 as a part-time Inventory Associate. Her attention to detail and organizational skills helped with the implementation of MedWish’s new inventory system. Shortly thereafter, she took on the role of Humanitarian Aid Specialist and subsequently the role of Humanitarian Aid & Alternative Recycling Coordinator. It is in this role that she gets to utilize her medical product knowledge to its fullest, matching supplies with the needs of recipients, and continuing to grow MedWish’s alternative recycling program. Britta holds a certificate of completion from Central School of Practical Nursing, a Bachelor’s from Ursuline College in Biology and Chemistry, and recently completed a Master of Public Health at A.T. Still University.  

Mark Smithberger

Supply Chain & Warehouse Manager

Mark Smithberger, Supply Chain and Warehouse Manager, joined the MedWish team in February 2017. He is responsible for the leadership and direction of a team of supply chain and warehouse personnel in the execution of their duties relating to the acquisition, receipt, storage, and quality assurance of medical supplies and durable medical equipment. Mark brings with him over 20 years of experience in the medical equipment and supply industry. Away from work, he enjoys spending time with his family, golfing, cooking, and attending local sporting events.

Charmaine Suguitan

Alternative Recycling & Sorting Associate

Charmaine Suguitan, Alternative Recycling & Sorting Associate, joined MedWish’s team in February 2017. Charmaine has a Bachelor’s and Master’s degree in Biology. She first found out about MedWish when she went on a medical mission in her home country, the Philippines.
