You have the ability to create a positive change in our world. MedWish International offers numerous individual and group opportunities to make a world of difference. Please consider serving as a conduit of hope and healing for many desperately awaiting our assistance.

Please note: Due to an increased interest in volunteering our policies have changed. We no longer have open Saturday volunteer events, and we ask that all volunteers interested in Saturday opportunities schedule a session first before participating. Specific information is provided below.

Volunteer Requirements/Information:

• All volunteers are required to complete the Volunteer Request and Liability Form before their first scheduled session.
• Volunteers should be at least 13 years of age. Those groups with children under 13 can look at our children’s partnerships information.
• Volunteers under the age of 18 need to have a liability release filled out on their behalf by a guardian before volunteering.
• Medical backgrounds are preferred but not required.
• Opportunities for individuals with special needs are limited and should be discussed with the MedWish volunteer coordinator first.
• Volunteers should dress in comfortable clothing and close-toed shoes.
• Water and restroom facilities are provided.

These forms require the Adobe Reader, which is a free program, and it can be downloaded by visting the Adobe website.

Saturday Volunteering

Volunteers sort and pack incoming and outgoing donated medical supplies. Saturday volunteering is not open. MedWish requires all volunteers planning on attending a Saturday session to sign-up with the volunteer coordinator first as we have limited space available for Saturday sorting.

• Saturday sessions:
• Morning session: 10am-12:30pm
• New volunteer orientation begins promptly at 9:30am
• Individuals and small groups (less than 10 people) can sign-up for this session
• Afternoon session: 1:30pm-3:30pm
• Groups between 10-30 people can sign-up for this session

Weekday Volunteering

Volunteers sort and pack incoming and outgoing donated medical supplies. Weekday volunteering sessions are open. You do not need to schedule a time before coming (unless you plan to bring a group of more than 5 people).

Open Weekday Sessions are:

• Tuesdays-Fridays
• Morning session: 9am-12pm
• Afternoon session: 1pm-4pm

Group Volunteering

A standard volunteer experience begins with a brief presentation and tour of our facility where we share about our important role in the recovery and redistribution of medical supplies. Presentations can be tailored more to your organization’s service-learning needs if requested.

A group consists of 5 or more people. All group members should be 13 years of age or older. A group must schedule a session with the volunteer coordinator. Group volunteering sessions include:

• Saturday mornings 9:30am-12:30pm (for groups of 5-10 people)
• Saturday afternoons 1:30pm-3:30pm (for groups between 10-30 people)
• Tuesdays 5:00pm-7:30pm (for groups of 10-20 people)
• Fridays 5:00pm-7:30pm (for groups of 10-20 people)

      *unfortunately MedWish does not have any available Sunday opportunities

Group volunteer leaders are asked to provide directions and liability forms to their group members.
