A native of Cleveland, Ohio, Brian J. Smith has been active in the Cleveland development and construction business for over 25 years. Projects such as the development of Lexington Village in Hough, as well as numerous office building and hotel projects, led Brian to the attention of the leaders of the Cleveland Clinic, where, in 1993 at the age of 31, Brian became Director of Construction for the Cleveland Clinic.
While at the Cleveland Clinic, Brian was responsible for all aspects of design and construction at the world renowned facility which has been ranked the #1 Heart Center in America for 13 years in a row. In 2007, Brian became the Clinic’s Director of Strategic Project Development. With strong passion for development and construction, Brian is intent on seeing Cleveland be strong and vibrant on a national scale.
Brian has two undergraduate degrees in Construction Technology as well as a Master’s of Business Administration degree from Case Western Reserve University. He is active on several not-for-profit boards that provide humanitarian aid to developing countries around the world with the majority of his efforts focused on Honduras, Central America.
Brian and his wife Karen have 4 children and reside in Pepper Pike, OH.
