Everyday, countless unused medical supplies are discarded by hospitals, healthcare facilities, and medical supply distributors in the U.S. This occurs while developing countries throughout the world are in desperate need of these items.

Frequently Asked Questions - MedWish International

I am traveling to a developing country and would like to take supplies. What do I need to do to be eligible to get donated medical supplies from MedWish?

MedWish International has three requirements for those who wish to receive donated medical supplies.

First, we ask that you complete an application and return it to MedWish International a minimum of 14 business days prior to needing to collect the supplies. The application will require you to create a detailed wish list of needed items and a plan for how they will be distributed and used. Communication prior to your trip with the intended recipient of the supplies will help you to determine what specific type and quantity of supplies are needed. This helps ensure that the supplies will go to the best possible source and that all the supplies will be utilized. The supplies MUST be donated and not sold to the area's hospitals and clinics.

Second, the country to which you intend to take the supplies must be "developing" or in a state of crisis.

Third, the person who takes the supplies from the warehouse is responsible for their transport and their arrival in the designated destination country, including all shipping costs.

When can I come to pick-up supplies?

After you have had your application approved you can schedule an appointment to pick-up your supplies with Mimi Hable at mhable@medwish.org or 216-692-1685.

I would like to collect medical supply donations at the hospital/doctor’s office where I work, and how do I get the supplies to MedWish?

If you are interested in donating unused medical supplies from a medical facility, contact MedWish International and arrangements will be made based on your organization’s specific needs. You can also fill out our Recycling Partnership contact form and we will be in contact with you.

How can I volunteer with MedWish International?

MedWish International has no religious affiliation nor does MedWish International have any political agenda or bias. MedWish International is not affiliated with any one specific area hospital.
