Where has MedWish served so far?

It’s August, and with things being slow around Cleveland, now is a great time to reflect on what MedWish has accomplished so far this year. How do these statistics sound? Let us know what you think by commenting below!

  • 42 countries served, including first-time shipments to Myanmar, Laos, and more.
  • Over 200,000 pounds of usable equipment saved from our landfills.
  • Over 220,000 pounds redistributed around the world, via 16 containers and 84 hand-carries
  • 67 Medical Brigade participants saw 1,667 patients in Nicaragua.
  • 460 people attended Band Aid Bash 2011, making it our most successful event ever!
  • Over $450,000 raised towards our goal of $661,000.

Not too shabby!

Want to thank you for the good work that you are doing. I am a physician and I am from Sierra Leone. Been in the USA for twenty five years now. I am hoping to return home this year, 2012 and contribute meaningfully to the healthcare of my people. I want to start a Hospital and clinic and would appreciate MEDWISH helping me, and by definition Sierra Leoneans, in providing me with much needed supplies. Thank you.

For the past two years now MedWish has been helping Living Waters Medical Missions help the people of the Amazon Jungle in Peru. We travel by boat and canoe to the remote villages along the Amazon and Maranon Rivers in Peru. We hold clinics in villages where children are dying from parasites, Malaria, Tuberculosis and all sorts of respiratory infections and malnutrition. We have come upon many wounds and infections. Through the supplies given to us by MedWish we have been able to save lives, help heal and deliver healthy babies in the remote villages of the Amazon Jungle. Thank you for your support of this awesome organization. It has made a difference in the most remote, primitive and poorest parts of the world. Thank you MedWish!

Sincerely,

I am retired US Coast Guard. I recently earned AAS in Health Information Management (ICD 9, CPT4) and passed the RHIT Exam and now enrolled in a HIT PRO (EHR) training program. I would like to volunteer in some capacity. I speak Spanish well and have traveled in Guatemala extensively and could help in the regard.
