On October 21st through the 25th, MedWish International hosted a medical mission trip with forty-seven participants from several parts of the U.S. to Nuevo Paraiso, Honduras. Five doctors, three nurses, two dentists, and a pharmacist were among the participants. In addition, many energetic participants with backgrounds ranging from event planning to construction management eagerly found their niche during the medical brigades acting as medical and dental assistants, distributing several forms of humanitarian aid, and simply spending time with the Honduran people. MedWish successfully provided medical and dental services to over 1,300 people as well as 1,500 pounds of humanitarian aid, including donated medical supplies, dental supplies, pharmaceuticals, shoes, drinking water, clothes, etc. The mission trip was an enlightening and educational experience for all who participated! A special thank you to the Cleveland Clinic for donating medicines, Brother’s Brother Foundation for donating shoes and medicines, Coca- Cola Company for donating drinking water, and Sullivan Schein, Colgate, and Case Dental School for donating dental supplies for the trip!

2007 Band-Aid Bash Update

On September 8, 2007 MedWish International hosted its most successful fundraiser to-date with the Band-Aid Bash, netting over $145,000! Over four hundred guests gathered at Cleveland‘s House of Blues to enjoy great music and delicious food and drinks, while supporting MedWish’s twofold mission: to save lives and to save the environment. Guests bid on hundreds of silent auction items, including an African safari trip and a trip to Cancun, Mexico. A lucky guest even won a forty-two inch television set from the raffle. Local bands View from Everest, Sumrada, and the Jimmy Maguire Band rocked the house well into the night. Needless to say, a good time was had by all!
Most importantly, MedWish International is now able to provide more medical supply donations to people around the world and to reduce more landfill waste in Northeast Ohio than ever before!
Many thanks go out to the event committee, auction committee, and staff who worked tirelessly to ensure that all guests had a wonderful experience. Also, huge thanks to our generous corporate sponsors, Circle of Friends, silent auction donors, and all of the guests who attended and made this event the success that it was!
