The Story of MedWish
Founded in 1993, MedWish International is a nonprofit organization that saves lives and the environment by repurposing surplus medical supplies and equipment to provide humanitarian aid to people in need.
Our Approach
In 2023, MedWish diverted more than 800,000 lbs. of medical surplus from landfills and distributed over 497,000 lbs. of supplies and equipment. These efforts impacted over 1.4 million people across the world.

The large-scale effort MedWish undertakes to deliver urgently needed medical equipment and supplies is built on an infrastructure of incredible supporters: health care systems, logistics partners, volunteers, and stakeholders.

CONTAINER LOAD: UKRAINE
Our 8th container of the year is en route to Ukraine! This shipment totaled more than 13,000 pounds of supplies and equipment that will help provide aid to those wounded and recovering amidst the current crisis. These items will continue to allow doctors and nurses to provide efficient and effective treatment for their patients.

MedWish International has been working with The Peter Maurin Center for a few years now, providing personal hygiene supplies and first aid items for ongoing distribution in the Greater Akron area. So far this year, MedWish has supplied the center with more than 600 pounds of items Some of these items are pictured here, sorted and ready to be put to use.
